Hi, nice to meet you. I’m Lil Kicha, or Liliya Kichigina in full, but don’t bother trying to pronounce it.
Short fun facts:
- I was born in 1995,
- Made in Siberia (and lived there for the first 24 years. I miss the snow and snowboarding),
- Then lived in Saint–Petersburg for 3 years being a little solo-production of all content for big physics laboratory,
- I made a leap from experimental physics to visual arts (my Diploma is on Nuclear Magnetic Resonance investigation of drug delivery, say Hi if understood a word of it)
- I’ve been doing photography and videography professionally since 2019,
- I’ve been living and being a self-employed creative in Canberra for 3 years and it’s my first ever abroad country visited, later I moved back to Russia
- Now doing the same creative thing and developing it further

Bio
Lil Kicha — photographer, cinematographer, and visual explorer.
For the past six years I’ve been working professionally as a photographer and videographer, focusing mainly on portraiture, fashion, and creative visual work. I’m known for vibrant color, expressive lighting, and a cinematic approach to people. My photography leans toward bold tones and playful editing, while my video work often lives in fast-paced cuts, handheld camera movement, and raw energy.
My path into visual work started somewhere unexpected — in physics. I studied experimental physics, worked as one, then graduated and started the new path: photography and videography. I spent years working in a laboratory, documenting experiments and research. Curiosity about light, color, and perception slowly pulled me toward filmmaking and creative photography, and what began as passion turned into a full-time creative career.
I work with brands, artists, and individuals who want more than just a photo but a vibe and expression of themselves. My shoots are a mix of creative and technical exploration.
One of my main projects is my solo documentary Connect. It was officially selected for several international film festivals and received multiple awards. But more importantly, it’s a piece of work I’m genuinely proud of as a cinematic experience.
I’m originally from Siberia, lived in Saint–petersburg, then in Canberra, Australia working on projects locally and having the best experience in my life and now I’m back to Russia, living in Moscow. At least for now.
My long-term goal is simple: keep traveling, meet fascinating people, and tell their stories through images and film.

I’m currently is based in Moscow, Russia and available for photo commissions worldwide.
Short film aka About Me video from Canberra
At March in 2025 I made a film about myself for Canbeerran local film festival LCA. I’m actually really grateful especially for its tight deadline and some obvious setup of items drive me much better than just planning anything that is not too important for later forever.
So I made it. It got selected to the Official Selection of 12 which got screened in front of 300-people crowd. And then it won the Best Film Award, which was just mindblowing for me.
So. What I want to say is that it’s not just talking head but an appreciated piece of video. And my “postcard” from Australia.
So I hope you enjoy!
